Myrna Brind Center for Integrative Medicine at Jefferson Hospital

We support research at the Myrna Brind Center for Integrative Medicine at Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, specifically a pilot human trial to study the effects of high doses of intravenous N-Acetyl-Cysteine (a naturally occurring amino acid) on patients with metastatic breast or prostate cancer.

Laboratory researchers at Jefferson Hospital recently discovered N-Acetyl-Cysteine acts as an effective antioxidant that cuts off the supply of fuel that helps cancer cells grow. Dr. Daniel Monti will lead a team of six medical doctors in this first-ever human trial to study the effects of N-Acetyle-Cisteine on tumor growth.
